
If new to running or like shorter distance runs and races, training for 5 km is a great way to get fit and enjoy the sport. The distances are achievable quite quickly once a reasonable level of fitness is achieved.

Distance running is all about perseverance. Giving your body time. Time breaks athletes. We all want success today, quickly. But it does not work like that. It takes time and great patience. Life takes over, and we drift away from the sport. The achievers stick at it. They have great focus, patience, vision. There will be lots of failure along the way. But it is all an experience. You learn more from failure than you do from success. But when things go right, God, there is no better feeling in the world for both coach and athlete.
